Nobody joins a gym because of the equipment.
Every gym owns the same racks, the same bar and the same plates as the gym one street over, and almost every gym film is a tour of them. This one stays on a member training, close and in the room's own low light, because what is being sold is the person you would become there.
One member, one session, the gym's own light
A gym is a room full of equipment identical to the equipment down the road. Filmed as a facility tour it sells nothing: the specification is not the differentiator, and a prospect already knows what a squat rack looks like. So the camera stays on one member through one session. The equipment is in every frame and is never the subject.
The challenge
The default gym film is an empty-room walkthrough shot before opening: clean floors, racked weights, nobody in it.
It shows the one thing that cannot differentiate the business, and it shows it in the one state no member will ever see it in.
Worse, an empty gym is quietly discouraging. The thing a prospect is nervous about is other people, and removing them does not remove the nerve.
How we approached it
One member, one session, at close range, in the light the gym actually has rather than lit for the camera.
The bar, the rings and the plates are in almost every frame, but as the thing being worked against, not as inventory.
Cut to effort: the set, the breath at the top, the reset. A minute long, because that is the length of the thing it is describing.
the filmthe delivered cut
One minute, one session.
Cut to the set rather than to a tour of the floor.

the lawwhat this one proves
Sell the person the buyer wants to become, not the room they will do it in.
Facilities are a commodity and a photograph of a facility is a photograph of a commodity. What is not a commodity is the state a member is in halfway through a set, which is the actual product and the reason the direct debit survives February.
Converted from Hong Kong dollars at indicative rates. Work is quoted and billed in HKD.
A business whose product is a feeling, not a facility.
