A catalogue lists what a supplier makes. It cannot show what they are like to deal with.
A Hong Kong houseware company, filmed in its own showroom. The range is the easy part and every competitor has a PDF of it. A buyer deciding whether to get on a plane wants to know what the room is like, what is actually on the shelves, and who they will be sitting across from.
The showroom, walked the way a buyer walks it
A supplier sells to buyers, and buyers look at catalogues all day. Product photography is a commodity: it is shot the same way by everyone and it says nothing about scale, depth of range, or what a sourcing visit is like. Those are the things that decide whether the trip gets booked, so the film walks the showroom instead of photographing the products.
The challenge
Houseware is a category where the product photograph has been perfected and is therefore worth nothing as a differentiator.
A buyer choosing between suppliers is not choosing between kettles. They are choosing between organisations, on range, reliability and how straightforward the relationship will be.
None of that is in a product shot, and all of it is visible the moment you walk into the room.
How we approached it
The film moves through the showroom at a walking pace, past the displays and along the shelves, the way a visiting buyer would.
Nothing is held up to camera. The product is the environment, which is the honest way to show range: you see how much there is rather than being told.
It ends in the meeting room, because that is where the order actually gets discussed.

the lawwhat this one proves
For a supplier, the showroom is the product.
When the object itself is a commodity, the differentiator moves up a level to the organisation behind it. A film that walks the room answers scale, range and seriousness in ninety seconds, which is faster than a catalogue and more honest than a claim.
Converted from Hong Kong dollars at indicative rates. Work is quoted and billed in HKD.
A business judged on the room, not the product shot.
Nine questions, about ninety seconds. You get a price range and a date at the end of it.
